Tell Your State Legislators:
Invest in the Land of Enchantment Legacy Fund
Last session, the governor, bipartisan legislators and a broad coalition came together to pass SB9, which created the Land of Enchantment of Legacy Fund - the state’s first-ever dedicated source of funding for land and water conservation.
This effort will protect our communities from wildfire, flood and drought, safeguard our water supplies, preserve our agricultural heritage, and grow our outdoor recreation economy.
Initial seed money was invested, but not enough to meet the demand from New Mexico communities.
We need your help to ensure the Land of Enchantment Legacy Fund is fully funded. Starting in January, legislators will meet for the 2024 session, and they’re already having preliminary meetings to make key budget decisions.
Email your state legislators and ask them to prioritize state budget surplus dollars and maximize investments in the Land of Enchantment Legacy Fund.
